Meet the Instructors

ELEANOR – CHIEF INSTRUCTOR

I'm Eleanor, I've been training in Wado ryu Karate for 12 years and teaching for 2 years. David Luddington, 4th Dan, was my original Sensei, hence my dedication to this style. Sensei Luddington taught that although we are learning to defend ourselves confidently and skillfully that the ultimate goal is inner strength and awareness.

Mostly I practice karate to keep fit, and have lots of fun, but it's been a massive confidence boost to think that if I were ever in a situation where I was threatened with physical violence, I would be able to look after myself – with a response appropriate to the level of the threat..

I have also trained in Tai Chi, Tai Jutsu, Capoiera, and kick boxing, and attended many seminars by various highly-qualifies martial art practitioners such as Leon Jay, Rick Clark, Gary Swift and Gary Stringer.

DAVID -- ASSISTANT INSTRUCTOR

David took up martial arts as a teenager – many years ago; he carried on with Judo to 2nd Dan level whilst in the forces; he subsequently became a 5th Kyu in Shi Kon Karate and is now a 1st Kyu in Wado-ryu Karate.
